Boker Plus Tech Tool City 5 (01BO804)

This German pocket knife is a very well rounded option for everyday carry. Black G10 and Swedish Sandvik 12C27 steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 58-60 HRC are a few of its outstanding characteristics. I’ve carried this knife as my E.D.C. for a while and I have to say that I really like it.

The main blade is bigger and thicker than its Swiss competitor which to me is an big selling point. Now, please have a look at that pocket clip and the glass breaker! This tool took Victorinox’s basic design and made it way better!

I must say that there is one thing that could be improved, and that is the fact that the Phillips screwdriver is in ‘T’ rather than ‘in-line’ position. That is not my favorite way to operate that tool but at least it has one.

The one thing that I completely dislike is the serrated blade. it is located at a very weird angle that can make it easy to close on you if not careful. It is also awkward and dangerous to open it, I’ve been close to cutting my finger several times. Just be mindful of that before buying it.

Final word is: This is one of my favorite E.D.C. knives and on top of that it comes at a very reasonable price, which in my opinion makes it a great bang for the buck.
